I got a little sewing in this weekend. I've been wanting to make a case for my iPad, and I came up with this little number. I ended up using a block I made for my Farmer's Wife quilt. I really like this one, it is one of my favorites so far, and I thought it would be really cute for this case. I also liked that it is a simple one, so I won't mind making another one for my sampler quilt to replace this one.
I added some Moda crossweave scraps to the front. Have you tried it yet? I love that stuff, it looks like linen but is a bit easier to use. I used American red rulers on the back, and DS Quilts dots for the lining. It is padded with batting and lightly quilted. I added a little white ribbon to the zipper, but I think I need to find some cuter to put there.
We went to a birthday party this weekend at a local pumpkin farm. It is such a fun place and a great spot for some good photos. The "corn box" is always a big hit with our family!
The guys had a fun time on the various bikes. I think Steve had as much fun as the boys.
I love these cute ones of me and Fin. We don't get many pictures together, since I'm usually the one behind the camera. I'm sure you other moms can relate to that!

Cute ipad cover. Love the ruler fabric.
ReplyDeleteLove the ipad cover - maybe if I make myself a cute ipad cover eventually an ipad will find its way inside? Hahahaaa... We too played in a box of corn this weekend. Much easier to clean than sand and so fun!
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet photos of the pumpkin patch. I'm so glad this time of year is finally here....I love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired that you took your favorite block from you FW and used it in a project that you will touch and enjoy every single day. My friend and I were just discussing how we have a tendency to SAVE our favorite things from our stash instead of cutting in and enjoying them! Cute cover. It turned out great!
Fantastic pouch for your ipad - wow. And darling pics of the fam. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI want to jump into that corn! Today we went biking as a family. I'm so thankful that with the change of weather it's nice to be out and about again.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try to Moda Crossweave. It looks like good! I LOVE the red ruler fabric and it's adorable in the IPad cover.
ReplyDeleteThere are very few pictures of me with my kids when they were young. It's something I now regret. Make sure that you get in front of the lens with them from time to time!
Seriously cute ipad cover! :) Looks like you guys had a great weekend!
ReplyDeletewe took a super long hike this morning. it was so fun! i love september! on another note... your hair is adorable! i love it. and my daughter has that same little jacket as your fin. thank you target, right?
ReplyDeleteLove!!! The crossweave is perfect!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful weekend. I can so relate to the 'being behind the camera'. I was recently looking for a picture of me and my oldest and the only one I could find was from when he was just born and still in the hospital. Needless to say I didn't look my best. Need to get in front of that camera, really.
ReplyDeleteLove your iPad bag. So stylish and yet cute.
Friendship star is one of my favourites! Beautifully done! Great photos of what looks like a fab family day out!

ReplyDeleteGreat pics ang! Loved port farms.
ReplyDeleteYour cover is fresh and modern, very nice! Gotta try that Moda, I love a linen look, and that corn box looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI like Pumpkin time. So, did you get pumpkins this trip?? I did a Missing Moms thing for a year. Every week you take a photo, or have someone take a photo of you and post it on your blog. I had one most weeks, but I think I wore them out, because I haven't had a new picture in a looooooong time!! Even kids can be persuaded to take pics of you...or parts of you, depending on their skills!
ReplyDeletelovey, lovey, lOVE the pouchie!!! why do i never make myself anything pink??? LOL
ReplyDeletex, H

I love your ipad cover. Super cute! Can I ask what measurements you started with? I have a friend I need to make an ipad for and I don't have an ipad so I'm kind of doing guess work.
ReplyDeleteI bought the crossweave just because of you--thanks! It is such great fabric. And it looks just awesome with the red rulers and the DS dots. Perfect combination!
